And a couple more of the speakers, I'm planning on having new boxes made at some point so the units will all end up flush. Side by side with my Dad's old WAD speakers that were built around the same time as the original build of mine.

Prompted by Mathew’s pictures above, here is a couple of pics of my crossover. Caps are all Solen polypropylene, resistors Mills, and inductors by Jantzen. Hook up wire (including within the speaker cabinet) is IPL Acoustic HU1. All contained within a Maplin project box.

Treble filter bottom, left. Midrange filter on right. Bass filter top left.

Fantastic job on the design of yours, they really look stunning. I'm planning on making some new cabinets at some stage and did have an idea to keep the same internal cabinetry but add curved sides to make them slightly more attractive.
When we move I shall have a dedicated listening room so the better half won't be too concerned by the looks.
I haven't heard anything that really beats the KLS3's.

Nothing to do with KLS3 Mk 3, Bob. Headphones are not speakers.

Improvements on the crossover can bring about stunning improvement in the sound, it's like the speaker drivers potential is lying dormant to what it can sound like.
Would love to try out some foil inductors but not sure if it is good value?

Chris

A little off topic Greg, but have you ever listened to a top end Stax ear speaker something like the SROO7 and SRM 006t driver ? Bob

Bob, it would be better to start a new thread, on headphones etc.
