I have usually found clicks to break tweeters dont forget if replacing the cone coil to lie fluid ones on there backs and leave for a while

Thank you for all of your replies, but what I had intended, never materialised. On the other hand, my curiosity has been piqued and I am pondering something involving the current equivalent of this driver. It won't be for a few months though (if I still have a job).
