Heybrook HB3 S2 midrange replacement?
Hi All
I've a pair of HB3 Series 2 P-Type and the midrange driver foam surrounds are totally disintegrated. Is there currently a drop in replacement available as the original is no longer produced? Cheers Steve |

Re: Heybrook HB3 S2 midrange replacement?
11 years ago I bought replacement foam for Mission speaker from audiofriends (fred@audiofriends.nl) on ebay. Good online instructions very successful. £24 in 2010.
If same seller not still around, I am sure others will be. Alastair |

Re: Heybrook HB3 S2 midrange replacement?
if the others do not come up with the goods
https://www.speakerrepairshop.nl/en/ probably will check both foam and rubber surround sections for example my mission 773e drivers have rubber surrounds but only foam listed for them checking the rubber section illustrates 771 772 and 77C rubber surround and its the same drive unit. only issue is the postage takes ages.... they seem to use donkeys and they can't swim, so i've been waiting 2 weeks. meanwhile i have mainly been using copydex in a syringe, and am so pleased with my results in rubber surround repair that i may not use the surrounds when they eventually arrive. any mistakes. let it dry peel it off and start again. a 1/2 mm track round the split section with the cone shimmed to centre works a treat. good bass again with no quacking cabinet effectively sealed where it needs to be...again..... and no obvious negative impact on cone movement, which in this case seems to be dictated by the woven cone support spider..... sounds are restored to former glory Dave |
