Default Our friend Nick Baker (NickB)

I’m sure several members will know Nigel’s (vinylspinner) and my very close friend, Nick (little fella with no hair). Certainly he was known to Matthew, Richard and John Caswell. I am sad to pass on the news that Nick died earlier today. He was only 66. He suffered a massive brain haemorrhage at the weekend but never woke up following emergency surgery. Typical of his kindness and generosity to others, he donated his organs to the NHS Transplant Service. He and wife Alison had just moved into a new home after they renovated it and they were looking forward to a fun and active retirement together.

Nigel and I together with his other friends will miss him greatly. He brought fun and banter to our listening sessions which will never be the same again. Such an otherwise fit and healthy man taken from us way too soon 😢

Geoff, I’m sorry, I should have given you a call rather than allow you to discover the news this way. I’ll call you in the next couple of days.

Hi Greg and all, we're very sorry to hear this sad news. Nick was indeed a very nice fellow. He was an inspiration behind our streaming music I think and his kind contributions make the hobby so good. Some of us from Nottingham met him at Bristol show and he called in last with you and Nigel to collect my WD3 gear. I know the Bristol lads are all close and we are thinking of you and Nick's family.

I’m truly devastated with Nick’s passing. He was a great friend and a really decent, genuine person who was always happy to help others whenever he could.

As Greg said, he was a special part of our listening sessions and of our lives, he will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with Alison and all his family at this sad time.

Nigel

Just logged in for the first time in a bit and see this news. So sad.
I only met Nick a couple of times but he seemed like a genuine and friendly guy.

My sympathy to all who knew him well and of course his family.

Phil.
