Default Radio Paradise

This is a great internet "radio station" which I'm happy to support with a few pounds every so often

For anyone who's not tried it, there are FLAC or AAC/MP3 feeds in a choice of music types with no adverts, just a reassuring word every so often from someone who is choosing and playing the music for you,

I agree. I've used it for several years now (and donate a little money). It's the best there is IMHO.

I third that - VinylSpinner put me onto them, very eclectic programme of music no matter which of the four feeds you pick.

As a regular listener and subscriber to Paradise Radio, I thought I’d add a little detail to what has already been said which I hope will be helpful.

There are four different streams available named Main Mix, Mellow Mix, Rock Mix and World/Etc.

All mixes can be streamed in options of Flac (lossless) 44100kHz 16 bit, AAC 320, 128,64 and 32 kbps. Also MP3 320 and 192 kbps.

Below are listed the Flac URL’s for the different streams. The ‘m’ at the end of the address designates metadata for the artist and composition being played and displayed on your UI, eg tablet/iPad. (I stream with Roon which includes a radio service using iPad). Omit the ‘m’ if you don’t need the metadata.

Main Mix. http://stream.radioparadise.com/flacm
Mellow Mix. http://stream.radioparadise.com/mellow-flacm
Rock Mix. http://steam.radioparadise.com/rock-flacm
World/Etc. http://stream.radioparadise.com/world-etc-flacm

I can provide the URL’s for any of the AAC or MP3 streams if anyone would like them.

I have a Bel Canto streamer, that I have not really used yet tried it out 6 months ago with some music on a usb stick, could this be used to listen to this music station? I have hard wired ethernet to 3 main rooms that the Bel Canto could access the internet. It would be cool to get flac or similar music files to listen to. I have the Bel Canto software download onto my iPad.

Yes, it should be possible if you have downloaded the Bel Canto Seek App on your iPad.

Copied from google-
The Bel Canto Seek app controls music streaming to Bel Canto Network components. ... The Seek app will find any DLNA compatible servers on your network for full streaming control of multiple music libraries and includes vTuner worldwide internet radio streaming.

The Bel Canto streamer is Roon ready, so if you subscribed to Roon you would have automatic access to internet radio. It’s worth doing a bit of research on the internet to find out more.

Thanks Greg for that, update sold the Bel Canto, but have also the Bryston BDP1 streamer I bought secondhand 6 months ago, it had Radio Paradise links within the settings, but did not link up.

SO have used my macbook pro with Bluetooth to send to my Chord Hugo TT dac on the Flac settings. The sound is equal to hi-res files used directly plugged into the Bryston via USB hd. Amazing quality!

Yes great sound quality on FLAC and surprisingly good on AAC

I've settled on mellow mix and many days it seems like my flac music collection on random play! Where it is really good is they play stuff I've never heard but instantly like and I've bought many secondhand CDs after hearing them on RP to rip to flac
