Mains Filter/Conditioner
Hi All,
Some years ago I had a diagram of a mains conditioner made by good old Maplins. It had a handful of caps, 7 or 8 VDRs and two encapsulated RFI filter back to back. I’m rearranging the system and thought I might use one. Just a thought Does anyone have the circuit? it was a free Maplin project Thank in advance Martin |

Re: Mains Filter/Conditioner
Hi Martin, this sounds very similar to the one from Hi-Fi world magazine, I built one and it is still in use but, I don't remember it making much if any change, I will try and copy the parts and circuit, from memory it composes X2 and Y capacitors, a few resistors and two chokes fitted back to back all on a tag board. Re: Mains Filter/Conditioner
Thanks Bob yes it does sound like it. I don’t remember the HFW one myself but it sounds very similar.
The Maplins one was in a box with one outlet but you could use a multi socket extension off it or of course build it into a multi socket box. Providing the RFI filters power rating was observed. Any info gratefully received Thanks Bob Martin |

Re: Mains Filter/Conditioner
All of the Maplin magazines are on the 'worldradiohistory.com' web site, free to use.
You want July 1995 page 24... https://worldradiohistory.com/UK/Map...cs-1995-07.pdf Alan PS there are a number of sites with the index like here: https://manualzz.com/doc/24784944/li...aplin-projects |

Re: Mains Filter/Conditioner
Thanks Alan that’s spot on exactly the one I was on about. Guess some others may use this too.
Now all I need is a plastic box and some board I’ll file those links too Alan All the best Martin |
