Denon DL 103 step up transformer
I've recently bought a Denon DL 103 moving coil cartridge. I'm using an Audio Technica AT630 step up transformer. It works, but the sound isn't correct. Is there another MC transformer that will match the cartridge? I've read that Denon AU 320 is correct, but no longer manufactured

Re: Denon DL 103 step up transformer
There are a few on ebay. Depends how much you are willing to pay. This looks the best value assuming it works. He accepts returns. Also, watch out for import duties.

Re: Denon DL 103 step up transformer
You will need a transformer to step up your Denon to about 5mV, then you may need to load the secondary to suit your cartridge and possibly add a Zobel network to reduce ringing, if present. I would recommend you contact Brian Sowter at Sowter transformers in Ipswitch, or Lundahl transformers. Bob

Re: Denon DL 103 step up transformer
I have a high quality HiFi News 'Blackhead 2' step up transformer available - see 'For sale' section. This works well with the Denon DL103. Send me a PM if you are interested.
