Re: what are you listening to now
Little Mick,
one of the best gigs I ever went to was Osibisa at the Crypt Sussex Uni. That was quite some night but that's another story, lets say when I exited the whole world was throbbing to Osibisa's rhythm - oh yea. Shadow - Earl Klugh - Finger Paintings - I always wanted to get a new copy of that, got a lot of his stuff. Do you know if there is a good audiophile copy of that or indeed - Living Inside Your Love, so beautifully recorded. If you ever get a chance to buy Songs for Late Night Guitar - grab it. Re: what are you listening to now
the first half hour of the Radio 2 folk awards. I recorded it on "listen again" last night, but my laptop crashed half way through , and now it's past the 7 day limit. Don't suppose anyone out there recorded the whole thing?

re Earl Klugh: I've been looking for Finger Paintings for years on vinyl and have had no luck so far. It is available for download from iTunes but that is hardly audiophile quality. I did strike lucky a few months ago with Songs for Late Night Guitar. I found the import on Liberty in a second hand record shop in Doncaster for £1. Brilliant! and the sound quality is fantastic.

Re: what are you listening to now
Shadow,
Songs for Late Noght Guitar - if I've had a bad or good day that is one of my favourite LPs to end the day with - audiophile quality. I reckon that it would be possible to get a s/hand copy of Finger Paintings in somewhere like Germany - it used to be used to test how good or bad a piece of equipment was. Earl Klugh is one man I would love to have seen live, the other being Baden Powell - they are not just technically perfect but all their music is imbued with emotion - oh well. Black Stuart |

Re: what are you listening to now
All right - I'll bite.
Baden Powell was so named by his father who was the leader of the scout movement in Brazil. Black people were still slaves at the end of the 19th century. If anyone happens to travel to Brazil and goes to Sao Paulo - if your lucky and hit the right bar at night, Baden might just turn up to play. Black Stuart |
