Thanks Greg.....a pity that, I'm looking for something a bit more useable with low powered kit. They're about the same (or slightly less) than what I've already got, reading the diy section has got me really interested in trying out some SE type amps.

Cheers,
Mike.

I think they should be fine with 9 watts and above in a fairly small room unless you like to listen mainly at high volumes.

It's not all about that rated sensitivity figure, the speakers are electrically a very easy load, and well damped also, essential for getting the best out of weedy amp's.

There are plenty of big speakers out in loudspeaker land with multiple drivers, poorly damped ported speakers which are an electrically hungry highly variable load which often dips below 4 ohm's. Such speakers are happiest with high feedback high power Solid state amp's when it comes to trying to achieve reasonable bass control.
Such speakers also sound very different depending on where you are listening room, and require far more room space than the aperiodic design of the WD25a.
As I said before many speakers sensitivity figures seem to be pure fantasy, you only have to look at Noel Keywoods measurements to realise this.
Many speakers also achieve this higher sensitivity by having boomy uncontrolled Bass and thus this is not a true measure of efficiency.

I remember one pair of floorstanders which measured 81db sensitivity and the manufacturer quoted a healthy 89db! hence they really required a solid state muscle amp to say boo to a goose!

Yes, my speakers are around 88db and they go very loud with 3 watts.

Looking at the db/meter figure alone means very little in my experiance.
