Hi Bob,
Unless you have done this, it would probably benefit from the old heatsink compound removing from the case and new smeared on.
Interestingly the only SS amp I ever liked was the Pass Labs Aleph 30 which was based on John Linsley Hood's 10 Watt Bipolar amp of years ago. As Nelson Pass said "can't improve it just change the Bipolar for MOSFETs"

Thank's for the advice John, most of the chassis parts have been dissembled and cleaned, including the three peace heat sink and a good coating of new heat sink compound applied. It's up the loft for now till I decide what to do with it. BOB

I'd take it off your hands if you've got no further use for it ?

I'll have to check the dimensions and see if it would fit in the BMW top box.

Sorry Philip, I can't let you have it as it was given to me by a friend who asked me not to move it on, I must respect his wishes. BOB

No problems Bob.

Just seems a shame it may never get used again.

PS I was not expecting you to give it away.

If it was mine and no mention of not moving it on, I would have given it to you Philip, I will try to get hold of the chap who gave me it to see if I can part with it. I would hate to cross the friend, he has been good to me. BOB

I have an update on this amplifier, I renewed ALL the electrolytic capacitors around three weeks ago, ( I was bored ) it works again, with plenty of heat sink compound at the heat sink joints and has been on test for around 5 hours each day ever since, sounds good. Bob
