Re: Forum Skins
Hi-with Mozilla when i have finished with the site i dont "log out" i just close the window and next time i bring the site up i am already logged in.
i have just tried using internet explorer after changing to" bulletin" and when i come back (auto logged in again) its still silver ! as i understand with Mozilla and internet explorer when i access the WD site the cookies "remember" and log me in automatically,so if you have to manually enter your user name and password every time you have a cookie problem. Re: Forum Skins
Hi Peter,
I had already done that to no evail. I've just tried again and it still doesn't work. It continues to say I'm in bulletin when actual display is WD default green. Best wishes, Greg |

Re: Forum Skins
Hi Greg
Is it possible for you to try running it thru mozilla. We had a prob with Internet explorer sometimes letting us keep settings. Othertimes it suited itself! Hope you find a solution to the problem,as like you, i am not to keen on the green.

Re: Forum Skins
Hi Greg,
May I make a suggestion or two, ditch IE and use Mozilla, Use Internet based email such as Gmail Having done that I have absolutely no need for virus programs anymore and have not used such for well over a year now with no probs what-so-ever. Besides, Mozilla is way better than IE with much better facilities. Regards Darren |

Re: Forum Skins
I also use Mozilla Firefox, as I particularly like the tabbed windows, but I wouldn't give up on an anti-virus program! My colleague received a Trojan yesterday from something dodgy on the 'net viewed through Mozilla.
Anyway the instructions I gave will work perfectly with IE6 as that is how I tested it here. You must make sure IE deletes its cookies, though. |

Re: Forum Skins
Agreed absolutely. Gmail + Firefox = no need for Norton!
Only thing is some web-based applications (Egg Money website springs to mind) demand IE, so don't ditch it completely. |

Re: Forum Skins
Norton's rubbish anyway, I used to use a freebie one on the net and it could always find things Norton missed, even after Norton updates.
Now my comps set to take a regular automatic disk image backups ( I used to use Ghost manually) that way one can always roll back to any previous image whenever, if ever !! As all email is web based, it would never be lost whatever happened, even after a HD failure. You never download viruses as you are just reading a web page. As long as you keep all your data on a separate drive you should be pretty safe. I used to have awful trouble till changed to Mozilla & Gmail. Not a single issue since. I used to do a virus scan every so often, but it became pretty pointless so I don't bother anymore. |

Re: Forum Skins
Thanks for all the input. My personal experience doesn't match that of you that have posted. My PC is new Dell Dimensions 3000 @ Dec 2005, fitted with XP home. I also use 2006 Norton Internet security. Since commission I've not had a single infection of any kind. All protections are updated automatically and I also aditionally regularly check everything is up to date. I consider my PC to be well protected, maintained and functioning well. I don't think I need to exploit Mozilla etc at the moment.
It doesn't change my problem. I've deleted internet files, cookies et al and my problem remains. Actually it is now inconsistant. Sometimes I'm in bulletin as selected and sometimes a page will open in 'silver bullet'. It's very irregular. I didn't have this problem until two days ago. I've done nothing to my PC, but if that is the source of the problem, please could someone offer a solution. I've done all Peter suggested and even did more developing the theme and it didn't work. I'll try anything. Best wishes, Greg Last edited by Greg.; 31st August 2006 at 08:23 AM. |

Re: Forum Skins
Hi Greg-you can download Mozilla FOC from the net and you can keep internet explorer as well.
The new version of explorer (ie 7) is better (have tried beta version) but Mozilla is just a better browser. i am not a computer wizzard but as you seem to be the only one suffering this problem, and as it seems to come and go it is probably your end. do you use any anti-spyware or registry cleaners ? if not why not ? Philip

please try Mozilla it's a much better browser than IE if you don't like it you can always go back to IE, you can run both and swap between them if you want to,
