Talking Re: NEW 42 inch HDTV UPGRADE

Hi Colin....
Yes still in the armpit of hell here in sunny D...

I posted previous to this on another topic about such matters, but just to refresh the info....

http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/search/pr...?sku=PL1003506

These are the ones I use. If you already have surge you may have rfi and emi filtering as well.

When I changed to the rfi filtered version, the picture became much sharper with stunning clarity and contrast definition improved. I recommend these to everyone when I fit the tellies to the wall. As soon as it is switched on the customer usually has to do a double take because of the improvement.

But like I said, check to see if your lead has it already...

Have to agree with Andrew - mostly American **** with no basis in reality, why don't these programmes ever include the 65% of Americans that are obese - forgot that's not part of the b/s American dream.

I can't believe there is so much American **** on Spanish/French and Dutch TV either.

Interestingly there was a piece either in the Telegraph or the Guardian showing the programming for Christmas 1979 - not one single American programme.

If you are all into i/net TV it's worth trying to get NHK - Japanese public service channel. I never realised just how beautiful rural Japan was, fantastic walking country and unlike the UK they have never abandoned their heritage. All the arts and crafts are very much alive. Stunning attention to detail, we all know how good Japanese engineering is but quietly these artisans have captured markets all over the world.

We've all heard of Tesla but the Japs have an electric car that blows it away. The tech programmes can be jaw dropping and for all the young guys their women are drop dead gorgeous and don't let themselves turn into blubber.

This channel is not slick, programmes are presented in a simple way - how refreshing from the western ****. The cooking programmes are easy to understand and make you want to try the recipes - there is one woman cook in her 40's I think - bloody hell she can knock on my door anytime, class all the way.

Anyway worth checking out as also is the Franco/German Arte channel.
