Some of the WAD knobs were supplied machined for 6mm shafts. On the other hand, the RS switch shaft is 6.5mm diameter. I found it more successful to drill out the knob to fit the shaft rather than the other way around.

Hi Paul,
Capacitor clips available from RS/Farnell, or you can use sticky pads and Ty-raps.
Valves - Usual minefield
300Bs - There are some very good and relatively cheap Electro Harmonix Gold Grid 300Bs from china arts in Hong Kong at £70.00 approx per matched pair plus about £10.00 carriage. I use them, Greg ditto, and I think others on this BB.
5687 - Pretty well any NOS, GE seem to be the best.
6AU6/EF94 - 6AU6 any good NOS, RCA, Sylvania, GE, Brimar. EF94 Mullard/Philips
5U4 - Modern Russian ones I think are fine, any NOS American, Brimar, or U52 Cossor, Marconi, GEC, Emitron, or you could use a 5T4 which is a metal valve, in which case pin 1 would need to be earthed.
