Re: Mains filters
I should add that I do use the simple mains filter Richard has directed above on all my amps. This is a no brainer. This simple filter does exactly what Richard has described and I'm very happy with it's application in my power and pre amps.

Re: Mains filters
My stuff's all powered through a 3kVA balanced mains transformer.
Excellent bass control and spaciousness. Just thought you might like to know! Guy |

Re: Mains filters
Hi Greg,
I'm still very happy with the WAD300BPP amp I built last year with your invaluable help. At the time you told me you had fitted Richard's "simple mains filter". What made you change your mind? Best regards, Jan |

Re: Mains filters
Sorry Greg,
I see now I missed your last remark. So you still use the 2 cap 1 varistor filter. Jan |

Re: Mains filters
Hi Jan,
Yes, I still use that simple 2 cap 1 varistor filter. Components are soldered to the back of the IEC socket. I have it in the 300B PP, 2A3 PSE and the PSU for my Pre and Phono stages. Not the best picture but you'll get the idea. |
