Hi Gerry,

The first link for me only opened with an error message. I couldn't tie down a price for a bulk order of 12AX7 Shuguang from Beijing Elvt Co Ltd on the second link, infact I could only open info on 300B. It's probably my poor internet skills.

I understand TJ are not manufacturers, but why do you think these TJ's are Shuguang?

If they are as good as Guy claims, I'd be interested in a few if a lower price is nice and be happy to be part of a bulk order.

Best wishes,

Greg

Hi Greg
The first link is not working for me either now...!

In the second link the name "Shuguang" is at the top and at the bottom:

Quote:
Audio tubes photos and Product information:
Place of Origin: China(Mainland)
Brand: SHUGUANG Full Music
Model No. : 300B,12AX7,6922,EL34,2A3,6550,KT66,KT88,EL156,5AR4 ,GZ34,807, 811,812,6SN7,6SL7,5U4G,12AU7,12AT7,6E1,6
But Company Name is listed as Beijing Elvt. Co., Ltd. (Top left).

I would imagine we would have to email them for a price which would be dependant on the quantity ordered.

Regards

Hi Jerry,

From what you say I take it you are assuming that 'Full Music' in both the Shuguang info and the TJ info is correlated. Do you know this is the case for certain?

Best wishes,

Greg

My take fwitsw ...

TJ / Full Music really is a separate company from Shuguang. Shuguang is Valve Arts and not Full Music.

I wonder how good these 12AX7 / ECC83s are. Guy has tried them and rather likes them but the advert also says that these TJ 12AX7s are better than Mullard and Telefunken. Well, I know Mullard and Telefunken ECC83s very well indeed and I am also impressed with the latest JJs. My favourite though is Telefunken. However ...

I looked round for Shuguang 12AX7s (and I have a quad, anyway) and they look quite different to the TJs. The TJs do not look impressive but beauty is in the ear of the listener.

Now I am a little sceptical and if you brothers want to get your feet wet on this one, I will happily borrow a pair off one of you and 'compare and contrast' with Mullard, Telefunken, RCA, JJ, Shuguang, Brimar and anything else I can find in the bottom of the box.

But I wonder what will happen when/if the price falls ...

Hi Greg

I was assuming that they are linked. All the searches I've done seem to link them both. However other searches have found Full Music:

http://www.tube-fullmusic.com/products/en-product.htm

But no 12AX7 are listed as a product! They appear to make Melody amps.

Brian Cherry has visited the factory:

http://www.diyhifisupply.com/diyhs_tj-factory-trip.htm

So I'm really not sure. It appears this guy on eBay is the only one who has them for sale. On another site someone has bought 2 of them to test. One was OK the other very poor and need to be returned.

Regards

Having looked into this, it seems the Shuguang are not the same as the TJ Full Music.

The place in France offers a discount (so they say) on orders for more than 12 valves.

They would seem the best place to get them from, if there is enough interest.

Depending on the possible discount, I might be interested in three.

Cheers,

wot I find odd is you could walk into china and pick these up probably for £1 each, the people work for a bowl of rice, yet for some reason we in the west are compelled to pay through the nose for things which the poor workers get nothing for, and someone gets lots of profit from us.

the bottom line is civilised as we like to think we are, the people responsible for these prices are slave traders of the worst kind, keeping people in poverty, and profiteering. we should boycott them if we care and have a conscience

I will be doing
