Yes could be a few things but if you've not done them it's worth uprating the ECC82 anode resistors Phil, http://www.world-designs.co.uk/forum...read.php?t=135 |

Re: Apologies to Roger Walters
Nice post Greg. Yes in the old days I had to sell kit in order to buy new and it was either an up, down, or sideways move depending on luck and what I could afford.
These days there's lots of well-priced new stuff available and also the chance to buy the gear I couldn't afford from years gone bye secondhand. Ok, much of it needs restoring but I enjoy that and the web has lots of info and support. So, whilst building and using WAD and WD amplifiers in the main system and keeeping up to date (sort of!) with streaming etc, I've been trying some of the old gear from back then in a second system. The kids have left home and we have a spare room now to re-visit the likes of Arcam, Sugden, Creek, Cambridge, Quad, Leak, Tannoy, Rogers, JR, Kef etc. It's all a bit of a merry go round and it's nice to swap something back in for a listen, rather than it having been sold in the past. Eventually I take a view on some stuff and I've kept only a few favourite pieces but they allow a change of audio scenery from time to time |

Re: Apologies to Roger Walters
Well not been as active in the hi fi as you lot have been started on the pre cf but slow progress, cutting logs keeps getting in the way.
However I have fully joined the digi house arrest generation and mastered zoom. Of course with the help of my daughter lol Hopefully the consultation (at great expense, no reduction for not being in person) with the immunologist from Guys Hospital will now work and I may or may not get the jab. (If it still effective for whatever mutant is next in the queue) Must say having used zoom now it was nice to see my daughter after so long and somewhat better than FaceTime So onward and upward continue with the pre and then on to the glasshouse psu Bob suggested. That however needs to be located in the shed somewhere Martin |

Re: Apologies to Roger Walters
Well John, I hope your shoulder is feeling a lot better it's exactly what my wife did to her shoulder trying to lay 20 900mm x 450mm x 50mm concrete slabs while I was at work. She was in agony for weeks until she was given instruction to perform certain exercise which quickly resolved the problem.
At this time we are busy plastering out a new bedroom that we built recently, I have standard trowel where the wife is using 1200mm one. Chris. |
