Re: Sweet Box
Hm, I couldha' guessed that
The vibration/hum, which is all mechanical / resonance with the crappy tin box really is ****y though. Otherwise it would be a nice little amplifier. |

Re: Sweet Box
Andrew, have you thought about doing a youtube video?
I wish I had your productivity! No I don't.....I wish I had some of your amps. Cheers, Clive |

Re: Sweet Box
Doing a youtube video! I barely know how to watch a youtube video.
I'd like a webpage or site thing too, like Steve and Simon, but I may aswell shoot at the moon. And all this week I am very much in the doldrums and doing nothing. Work and other things are really intrusive. |

Re: Sweet Box
I cut a pad of mousemat and only hand tightened the fixing screws: no hum!
Now Schubert and the boys are doing Death and the Maiden - marvellous. I'm using £20 ebay 'hardwarehouse' 5-6k output transformers and they are giving me a lovely top end; quite unlike the usual warm recordplayer amplifier sound. So now I can just let it all melt and see what happens next. |
