In that case your statement is confusing me.

What you seem to be saying is "one input", "non switched mode" and "SUT" ?

That is what I'm saying. Without the SUT the grounding isn't critical.

My phono 3 is the non-switchable, single input type with SUTs.

Just turned the system up to max and no hum, just valve hiss.

Does this help or confuse things?!

don't have hum or hiss ether and thats feeding it in to a solid state Amp

No not a realistic volume level but to be far I can’t say if theirs hiss at volume levels that the whole street can hear but there’s a lot to be said about adding good parts a more smoothing cap
