The only thing I can think of, which I think Martin touched on, is if the drive units were non linear, but then I would have tought you would need to do mire than just reverse the magnet, I would think mounting the drive unit facing into the speaker on the baffle (if you see what I mean).

Steef. have you any sides on the baffle? I would have thought you would get a lot of front back cancelation at LF. Also, how well do the mid ranges handle the LF if they are run full range?

ciao / sorry for my English

really I don't know what happens inside this copule...
I have found better sound - just that

another strange situation is
when change different amplifier to drive this type of loudspeaker
the sound still be the same

for that reason I'm thinking on back-EMF
not for cancelation but for balancing

for balancing i mean an average of two asymmetry-symmetricalness waves

it presupposes that engines are in disequilibrium between front and rear wave
or push and pull cone

a friend tell me this parameter is called skewness
but there isn't in our audio measure...

if i have understand: no don't have baffle more the Surf you can see
the middle works full range - in phase with all cones

As far as I can see from the patent application the 'invention' relates only to the 'counter electromotive force'. From these I deduce that it is assumed that magnets from two speakers in close proximity will alter the overall magnetic field. By reversing the polarity of one of the magnets it is expected (hoped) that the field disruption is optimised.

Actually I would have thought that the strength of field in the gap is unlikely to be affected by other, nearby, magnets as the focussing effect of the top plate is quite extreme for the magnet in contact with it.

However the change in magnetic field characteristics around the speakers may affect other things, like the nearby crossover, so who knows?

this little loudspeaker use Vifa drivers
and have bass-reflex
also a magnet's polarity reversed
good natural sound in small space

looks like you're losing your 'a' and 'd' and 's' key occasionally now as well Paul!

Must be time for a new keyboard, surely?

I know it must be anoying to read, it's only when using the laptop. I don't suppose it's economic to replace a laptop keyboard.

I do use the onscreen keyboard at times like now, but sometimes I'm in a hurry.

Hi Paul,

Your dyslexic keyboard compliments you. I understand your posts as ever, regardless of the tool

Best wishes,

Greg
