Re: look what the postie brought me this morning
When i started motoring (in the swinging 60s) i can remember getting 4 gallons for a pound (£1).
But what i always forget is to judge it against what people earn !

Re: look what the postie brought me this morning
you also got 4 shots included for a pound!
You know, the use of and sales of SUVs (or whatever they are called) and 4by4s in general have gone up in the US since we all started talking about global warming. They pay less than a dollar a litre for gas and they moan about it. They deserve George Bush. The rest of the world does not deserve America. |

Look on the bright side, at least they might all shoot each other sometime soon. Well, we can hope

Re: look what the postie brought me this morning
I can't believe we are now paying ~£1.05 for a litre of diesel and £1 for petrol, AGAIN. I'm just glad my car does 70+ mpg. I can see another fuel blockade coming. Rip off Britain - as usual!!!
PS: Whatever happened to my Green Shield stamps or free wine glasses with every £1 spent ??

not the same as stamps or free glasses but every time we shop at waitrose they give us a voucher for 4p off a litre at the local garage,

Re: look what the postie brought me this morning
i would not worry too much about testing them..
the tv types are generally worthless if they look unused in the box, they are usually good ones if they look used they may work.. or may not only worth testing if they are el84 or ecc83's, ecc88's or the like had you phographed from the ends of the boxes we could have given you some advice on value quite easily some later valves tend not to be english and of little value (even the ecc83's) but many of my tungsram valves are mullards in disguise... i one put a box of 500 assorted tv types that on a stall.. no one looked.. could not sell them at a fiver for the lot.. i throw most them out now.. steve |
