Al,

You may be on to something there ..
I just discussed this with one of our Elec Design guys . He said he would read it as pins one AND five connected to V+ , too . The datasheet is however unclear .
I will try it tonight, in any case .

CHEERS

FWIW, my limited experience says both pins should be connected

Default Bingo

BINGO

Thanks Al and David

I was thinking as a valve-head, assuming pins 1 and 5 were alternatives, connected to the same point in the circuit , so I could use either .
Connect 1 to 5 , now it does what it should do.

Tomorrow I can get it plugged in - I was too busy doing another tweak this evening . Need to add the lead-out wire and do a couple of checks .

Hi Mark,

Great that you've sorted your problem. Please don't be shy and let us all know what you think of this PSU and the effects on the sound on your 401.

Best wishes,

Greg

especially how reducing freq vs reducing voltage impacts the sound. Maybe a combination of the 2 would be good. Also, I seen some people say you still need to use the eddy brake a little if you want the Garrard sound.

Waiting impatiently......
