Yes it's all become standardised now with red speakers on top and red inputs on the bottom. Look back a few years and you'll find commercial amps with right inputs on the top and speakers were/are often side by side and sometimes left/right is transposed. Really it doesn't matter, it's not a safety issue, and some amps invert the signal anyway

Great job with the rebuild Mr Fuzz it must feel good having saved that beast from the scrappers!

The WAD confusion comes because the amps are constructed with the chassis inverted that probably confused when the instructions were compiled

Perhaps regarding the wiring drawing but the inputs and speaker post assemblies are shown red on the same side whichever way you look at it. Here's KIT88 from the similar era and the wiring drawing is different to KEL84. Explanation is that it wasn't important/specified afaik back then. KEL34 of similar era had XLR speaker terminals as there was some controversy about EU regs concerning 4mm sockets you will recall. Many commercial amps back then were supplied with little plastic plugs in the speaker post holes.
