Clearaudio Concept V2's more flat frequency response might be what I've been looking for. Not sure what stylus is fitted to it.

Yes, when I looked online that is what I found. I thought the magazine said something else though. Can't remember now, I didn't buy that magazine, I bought Hi-Fi World instead.

I did buy it and just checked.
You are right Michael, they call it a "microline" stylus, whatever that is.

I am considering a change of cartridge.
I have a Goldring 1042 but am coming to the conclusion that it is very hard to set up optimally. It always gets good reviews but
is often slagged off by ordinary "punters". Sometimes I get it sounding great but other times after performing (it seems to me)
the same setup, it sounds nowhere near as good. Perhaps you need the years of experience of a reviewer to get it right every
time. The Nagoaka 150 is very musical and tolerant of setup according to the review.

Yes I thought the magazine said "microline" stylus, maybe the magazine got it wrong? Flat response to 14khz, then roll down to -3db at 20khz? Tracking 2.2grams, I think. tad heavy for me. Went to buy the magazine today, but new one is out, unsold ones sent back. (3 log ins).

There's an excellant thread on different forms of stylii on Vinyl Engine written by a retired industry pro in the US., tells you all you need to know to make an informed decision.

My first venture into MCs was the AT33EV, I can't find anything to criticise about the sound, simply excellant across the whole frequency range.

My only criticism is the UP-OCC cartridge tags which are have to be 'bundled up' I prefer to have all signal wiring as straight as possible, the electrons told me so.

Whatever cartridge you buy it is certain you will find a price much cheaper abroad - AT33EV @ $399/£250, same cartridge sold by someone well known to this forum @ £560.
