Hi Guys,

There appears several who are uncertain on attendence etc, but I'll try and collate it as best as possible for now. Please can you confirm if possible particularly if you are looking to meet and buy lunch. In fairness to the landlord, if on any days there are numbers above about six for lunch, I need to give him due warning. Venue details are below. Unfortunately they no longer do Sundays so I'm working on an alternative for that day and expect to post on it tomorrow. As things stand at the moment (realise this is a lunchtime meet list only), we have.......

Friday
John Caswell
Basil
Cycleallday
Steve Grimshaw
Me
?Darren
?Max
?Rob Holt + three others

Saturday
John Caswell
NealG
Me
Richard Higgins
?Darren
?Max
?Brian + Good Lady.
?Rob Holt + three others.

Sunday
John Caswell
Me
?Darren
?RogerA
?Rob Holt + three others.

As you can see there are more unconfirmed than otherwise so please will you advise if you are or are not attending. This is in respect of the lunchtime meet only. If you are simply attending the show only there is no need to include your name here although it would be good if you made a point of saying hello in the WD demo room

Like last year, the lunch venue on Friday and Saturday is 'The Printers Devil', Broad Plain, Bristol. We will meet from 12 midday. That is because those of us working in the WD room will have to lunch in shifts. A good meal (including vegetarian options) is available for about £6.50, but there are cheaper or dearer choices. Real Ale is on tap. The atmosphere is quiet allowing good conversation, and you'll save a shed load of money and get better quality and quantity compared with refreshing at the show.

The Printers Devil is about three minutes walk away. To find it, exit the show by the main entrance and turn left. Walk ahead keeping the hotel building line on the left until you reach a roundabout. Cross this diagonally to the right, heading towards an Elizabethan looking pub (maybe the Sunday venue) called 'The Stag and Hounds'. On arrival on the otherside of the roundabout, turn right keeping the building line of the local 'Evening Post' rag on the left and you will see The Printers Devil straight in front of you.

Don't forget if you plan to re-enter the show after lunch, to declare your intention at the show reception desk as you leave. They will mark your hand with a UV pen or something similar as proof of your entrance payment which will allow you automatic re-entry.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Best wishes,

Greg

I've made some further inquiries and local pubs that do lunch on Sunday are pretty sparse. As it is only John and I confirmed for Sunday and we're committed to the WD room anyway, unless anyone indicates a significant wish to meet for lunch on Sunday, my inclination is to cancel on that day. There are places we could use, but you would need to be comfortable and completely non-prejudicial around gender orientation things!

Best wishes,

Greg

Hi Max and Roger,

Max, thank-you. Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Roger. At the moment you, other than John and myself are the only other, but that should not put us off. Can I suggest you visit the WD room early and say hello. In the meantime, I'll try and find somewhere suitable to meet for lunch.

Rich (Hardy), I've picked up on what you said on the other thread. Which day are you coming?

Because Peter and very likely Darren will not be attending, it's going to be difficult for both John and I to be away from the demo room at the same time, but be sure we can work something out.

Best wishes,

Greg
