Dear All

Thank you for all your input.

I have just "pressed the button" and we are now a much smaller elite!

Just to re-emphasise: we are an inclusive and supportive group and we welcome all with a genuine interest in WD, WAD or a more general enthusiasm for Hi-Fi.

I don't want to have upset anyone - and hope I haven't. Anyone affected is welcome to rejoin at any point and if anyone wants to discuss this action with me personally, they are more than welcome to email me at

sales@world-designs.co.uk

All best,

Matthew

Cool Re: Kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century

Hi all,

I'm just curious now as to the definition of an 'active member'?
The Forum stats show that we have 1627 members and 116 active ones.

Are 'members' people who have simply registered within the last 5 years, and active ones are people who have been registered since day one and have also created one or more posts within 5 years?

Regards,

Neil.

Neil, it was my suggestion to Matthew and others some time ago to remove inactive members as there was only a very small percentage posting and many registered and never looked in again, it still happens, you can make a good guess whether new members will post or not just by looking at the name, Matthew and the moderators came to a very sensible decision and removed those who have posted nothing in a particular time. Hi Bob,

Yes, I saw the earlier messages in the thread - I was just wondering what the final 'formula' was. It makes complete sense to me to do this.
However, what I did see were some prolific contributors from years gone by who haven't posted in 5 years or more, so by definition, they too will no longer be part of the group.

Regards,

Neil.

Neil,
In all likelihood if they have not posted for longer than five years they’ve moved on or died.
They can of course easily rejoin if they want to still be part of the community tho

Hi Pingushome,

Yes, that's what I was thinking too. To name a few who have posted a huge amount of info over the years, but who haven't been on here for a long time are:

Name No. of Posts Last Visit
Paul Barker 1,609 15th April 2017
Dave Counter 1,505 11th May 2014
NickG 1,767 30th August 2014

It would be a real shame if some are sadly no longer with us (not saying that is the case with the above, and I sincerely hope not too). If many have simply moved on and found other interests, then of course that is expected.

Regards,

Neil.
