Sad news - I check this daily and have learnt a lot and enjoyed the comraderie and friendship. Audio talk UK will probably get a flood of memberships from this but I'll keep my ritual of logging on here and getting the daily news as long as it lasts. Love my 25t Excels so they'll be a reminder of the late, great WAD.

Cheers and best wishes to all, see you either here or on the other forum. Must have a quiet beer and say a sad farewell. If I was in the UK I'd try and organize a wake.

Sad news indeed.
I'd like to echo everyone else by saying "thank you" for the kits, the help and the camaraderie from all at WD, the moderators and all the fellow forum members.

My pre3/phono3 remain at the heart of my system, the music they make serves as a daily reminder of how wonderful the kits this company came up with are. For that I thank you.

Hopefully Dave's very kind offer can lead to continuation of the forum and the kits!

Best wishes to you all.

Smile World designs closes, or does it?

Peter Comeau called me last night but I was out. I will call him mid-morning. I am sure there will be some good news!

Regards

Dave

One other point..
I'm not sure how many people are (or were, rather) employed by WD, but however bad we might be feeling about this, they must be feeling a lot worse. The folks at WD that I had contact with were unfailingly polite and very very helpful at all times. Gentlemen, thank you for all your efforts, way beyond the call of "job". I do hope that things go well for you in the days to come.

Yep, good point!

I certainly wish the WD employess well in getting themselves sorted out - not having a job is the pits, particularly in the **** times we are to enjoy. It is reassuring to me that people like the bankers, Mr Cameron and Mr Clegg and other very wealthy people will also be 'tightening their belts' just like you and me.

Smile Good News

Good News

I have spoken at length with Peter Comeau and exchanged e-mails. Peter is now on a long haul flight to China but we believe we have thrashed out a deal where my company Timestep Electronics will take over everything including this forum. Nothing is likely to change.

However, neither of us have yet committed and there are several I's to be dotted and T's to be crossed. But I'm confident of a good future for World Designs whatever happens.

It would not be appropriate to say anything more right now about this.

However who remembers the amateur radio 2 metre monitoring receiver kit that I sold over 1,000 in the 80's ?

Regards

Dave
