Ok, as long as you see it that way it must be ok.

Time for me to be out of here, as Andrew correctly said, ENOUGH from me.

What I think is most interesting about the obesity issue is that the information out there about how to control weight does not correspond very well with the evidence , on the ground, across different cultures . The societies where people obsess about low fat and talk about this issue all the time ( and buy specially targetted foods ) seem to have the most overweight people , and the more the advertising and supermarkets force certain products out, the worse the situation gets . When you look at countries where people are generally slimmer and fitter than the UK ( Germany and Sweden are two examples I'm familiar with ) , you certainly don't see them eating a lot of low-fat stuff . They just eat proper food .
I can't help feeling the medical establishment is somehow screwed up and influenced too heavily by flawed research from the food industry ...or do I see unrealistic conspiracies ?

i agree. they want a quick fix or some super duper miracle cure thingy. tell them they just need to eat normal proper food and do regular light excersise ( not become marathan runners or body builders) and its not exciting enough to hold their interest or change their routine for

remember when edwina curry got into trouble (again - she was a naughty girl ) for telling people in the north they were eating too much fryed and fatty stuff ?
i'm not sure what was funnier - that she had the daring/ignorance (of the reaction it would provoke) to say it or the outraged response it provoked

Im 29 and consider my generation to be the last who enjoyed the freedom thats mentioned in the original post. Something has been lost over recent years.

Hi all.

The best diet to lose weight is to speak another language.
America highest obese population.
England 2nd highest.
Australia 3rd highest.
New Zealand & Canada fighting for 4th.
So speaking English makes you fat not what you eat Ha Ha Ha

P.S All the last generations spend time to make something Idot proof just to have the next generation breed a better Idot.

Back when I was a skinny young man with a six pack only 1 in 20 of us were fat. Anyhow we used to joke then that "cottage cheese makes you fat, only fat people eat it". Was probably a Ben Elton Joke. Do you remember there was only one fat boy in a class. Most of us were underfed, I remember feeling hungry all the time. Once a week I had pop and crisps but only if I walked to the swimming pool (5 miles away, aged 10yrs) instead of going on the bus. Or when we stayed at Granny and Grandads she would buy Dandelian and Burdock off the milkman as a special treat.

When I asked my dad for a drink he always said, "there is plenty of water in the tap."
They are fat because of what goes in their gobs.

It was called "Corporation pop", or so I was told.

I always found that trying to start old unreliable motorcycles was an ideal exercise and particuarly ones without kick or electrics starters,I must have pushed this bike for miles
