Sounds to me that your Audax drivers are needing rescued from some serious owner abuse....

Send them to me an I will make sure they spend the rest of their days being fed sweet music and running free in a beautiful and sheltered enviroment.....

They were aquired a while back with a view to adding some more bass to my zigmahornets. At some point I'll get round to using them in a TL sub, but thats another thread for the future...

James etc, thanks for pointing out that using them is a bad idea. I had a feeling they wouldn't be ideal.

Hi ,

Ive been gutting my guitar practice amp ( a 12ax7/6V6SE champ copy ) to rebuild into something special using my spare JJ 300B as an output valve. and following James' advice midway through the PT15 TX thread.

Quote : "A very simple amp using non-standard valves would use a PCF input valve into a trioded PL802 driver. Use the pentode as input then triode into triode into 300B put the tone stage between the two triodes and a gain pot between each stage."

whats a good cheap available PCF to try , anyone ? Cant see any on ebay.
Might try Wilson Vales or similar ? Is the PL802 common and easy to obtain?

cheers
Pete
