Hi Martin,

I have PM'd you (hopefully) and given you simple instructions as though you were heading North from the Black Cat. Otherwise, call me on 01480 210510.

(Nearly missed all your replies - I don't log in here very often and your PM was in my 'Deleteds'!!)

Hi Keith,

Arrived home safe about an hour ago

The kids fell out of the back of the car,and i had to have my legs crossed all the way home, lol

If you were going to Eggfest i would politely ask for a lift, but having seen your 'car',i very quickly changed my mind

It was really nice to see you again, albeit briefly,i'm sorry we couldn't stay longer.Maybe next time,eh?

Once again, thank you very much, for your kindness, and hospitallity.

Kindest Regards

Martin

P.S. It was nice to see Ray again too, that was a surprise!!!

i have bought an old telequipment dm53a oscilloscope for £20 from a shop called mawsons on abbeydale road in sheffield ( next door but one to bardwells which anyone in the area with an interest in electronics will know). he gave me a d53 which he didn't know wether it worked for spares as well and some other bits !

he repaired tvs and specialised in repairing oscilloscopes. he is retiring and has a shop full of stuff he has accrued over the years to get rid of. so anyone who thinks there might be something they're interested in should get in contact quick as he has to have it all cleared in 6 weeks as the shop is sold. he's not there much but i have his home phone number so could contact him for any interested parties. the number at the shop is 0114 2552125 but he is there at irregular times and it can take him a while to get to the phone

so now i have an oscilloscope but don't know how to use it ! i'll have to have a play. prehaps someone could set me a task of something useful to measure on the sound design pre amp !

Yes, you could measure the ripple voltage on the PSU cap before and after the regulators in the HT and the heater circuit. Just to give you some idea of the small ripple voltages and etc that you want to get rid of using better caps and bypassing etc etc etc.....
