ebay only reward themselves, unless you are one of the few or devote your life to selling there. They are beginning to rival bill gates in some circles for pariah status and freedom fighter globilisation target

chinese you mean????

Smile Re: What is the second hand value of a WAD amplifier

What happened ??

I had two offers, one from a chap in Devon and from a chap in Woking. The chap from Woking got back to me first and picked them up yesterday.

Although he had reserved his final decision till after hearing my offering, quite frankly looked downright shocked not just at the sound pressure produced thru my customised circa 1969 Richard Allan Pavanes but the crystal clarity that he had never heard from any amp valve or bi-polar before. not especially when driven by my new Rotel Ra-06 (pre section) that although it did little to enhance with added noise his enjoyment was not dampened.

Needless to say, he is very happy ....

So chaps, no doubt you will meet soon the proud owner of a pair of of WAD 300b PSE, so make feel welcome Keith Powell.

and to answer my own question £ 870 is the second hand value of my pair of WAD 300b PSE -

There is of course a lesson here been learnt (thanks Richard) if you are going to sell your amps don't bother to replace the valves, because it won't make a scrap of difference to the value.

Well done Lincoln a fair price, despite, presumably, having to let the new valves go with them. (David and Neal picked up on the new valves before me). So, a new owner who may join us here. But what of you? Where are you off to that you can't take them along? Will you get more valves once there? All the best, Rich.

We have a little place on the Costa Dorada in Spain, by the beach and decided that will make residence a permanent thing. I have been instructed "by those that must be obeyed" that certain items should be disposed of and this included my beloved 300b PSE's.

However a small price to exchange mostly rain for mostly sun and London for the Beach amidst a thousand Catalan orange groves. mmmmm Oranges.

I have no doubt that I will again, tinker in the world of valve audio however under a different sky.

Ah, very nice too. Just been out with friends who did a similar thing, moved out to their holiday place semi-permanently. I say semi as they come back at this time of year as there's no heating, insulation or double glazing in their Spanish place and it gets cold!

I guess the glut of cheap Japanese hifi valve amps (and other) has seriously hit the second hand market value (I am good at BS too, heh)

Almost OT, but I must post this! (sorry)

I'm selling a few valve amps on ebay atm, but guitar ones (and a stack cab). All of some vintage, these are simplistic beauties of the valve world, especially the Marshall 1959 (stroke, stroke), I must say!

http://tinyurl.com/269yh5 (Marshall 4x12)
http://tinyurl.com/2aba8v (Vox AC30)

I've lost count of people trying to get these through 'the back door' of the auction, sheesh! heellloooo, it's an auction!
Oooh!...the AC30 is not doing too badly!

I have to disagree to a certain extent about valves, I feel if you offered an amp without any at all, it would go for a very low price
