Oi! (again!), I'm young and ride sensibly through the middle of Lunnen everyday. £67 Full Comp BTW.

Yes but, no but, my lawn mower is more powerful than your pop-pop.

Seriously though, you probably do more miles on your pop-pop in a year than I've done in a lifetime.

Promenade Percy ? Ask me on Monday evening after I've spent all day thrashing round an extremely muddy field.

Hi Dave, I did not mean MOTORCYCLISTS of any age, they seem to be quite responsible, its these spotty face pricks in cars trying to drive as if they are on a race track, urmm, I apologize if you have spots on your face. BOB

Well, to be honest, when I was young my on road behaviour was a bit questionable, in car or on bike.

But as I matured (yes really ) I got more responsible.

Well, last time I saw him he didn't have spots on his face but, whatever you do, don't say anything that might delude him into thinking he's good looking

I must agree with that Philip, I was not perfect, by any standard, but it seems to me that young car drivers of today have no respect for other road users or the law,and they just do what they please and how they please, and the police do almost nothing to stop them.

I only have one bike on the road at the moment due to crazy insurance prices, just had a quote for my Cyclemaster, a pushbike with a 25cc engine, £82.00 poxy quid, Footman James wanted £102.00 for it,, there could be a nice Cyclemaster for sale too. BOB
Wow! (To employ current vernacular).

What a ridiculous premium for the Cyclemaster. I shudder to think what it might be for the bigger engine!

As a comparison, my 500 Red Hunter is fully comp with an agreed value of 5,500, excess of only 50 and additional named rider. This is with Highway, a division of Liverpool Victoria and all for 85 quid/year. The only limitation is I'm not to exceed 2,000 miles but unless the weather improves, that ain't likely. But perhaps I should enclose my boots into a pair of Tesco carrier bags and get out into the inclement stuff - I'm advised that promenading Percy is an indictable offence.

I suspect it pays to shop around; I'm always suspicious of Carole Nash, Footman Wombat, Adrian Flux and other "specialists" - better deals can be had elsewhere.

When I race, or trail ride in wet conditions I put a Sainsburys carrier bag over each foot before putting my boots on.

Shame, but the scramble I entered on Bank holiday Monday has been called off due to extreme water-logging of the course at Marks Tey.

I was looking forward to getting plastered with mud from head to toe.
