However, I have noted that the recent whether has been a trifle inclement, thus depriving me of opportunities to exercise the Atco. Hope it improves next week as I'm taking The Beast in company with my son's 1953 G80 off to the Somme and Ypres battlefields. I expect to find myself installed in the office of Chief Pedagogue by the time I return. Salutate! |

Euclidic / Euclidean - I'll have to think about that one.
Why should one want to get away from the (ancient) Greeks considering all the gifts they have bestowed on the barbarian hoardes? |

Re: New member's
Thinking on a little. Rather than one autocratic Pendantus Maximus we should take it in turns to wield supreme pendantry purely as a representative and only then after the committee has met to discuss the possibilities of each oxymoron, hyprebole, tautology, careless teleological explanation of how the world came to be (geddit!) and indeed lonely apostrophe for at least two weeks prior to announcing/giving to the world the next 'gem', kernel of wit and cleverness.
Surely only in this way can true pendantry be taken to higher levels far outsmarting any contribution made by the individual no matter how witty (s)he actually demonstrates. Otherwise it is only(?) sophistry, rhetoric and connambulisms. (I don't know, I made it up) I am still thinking about how the Romans managed without the apostrophe - they didn't do 'zero' either but then neither did anyone for a surprisingly lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time. |
