Re: Newbie guide to SE Vs PP
I wander what a signed copy of MJ with personal note would fetch on eBay?

Re: Newbie guide to SE Vs PP
Depends on what the note was, I can imagine a few.

Push Pull 212!
Actually the recipient of such things would never let it go, but if I were to sell it I would donate the money to Morgan because he is a great contribution behind the scenes and through his books to many but makes doodle squat from the books. To make money out of books you don't write books about valves.

Re: Newbie guide to SE Vs PP
Thanks for the kind words chaps, I appreciate it.
I'll keep sniffing about for a MJ book, I never knew Micheal Jackson made such an impact on the world of Valve Hi Fi DTB |

Re: Newbie guide to SE Vs PP
Hi-i have now got the two MJ books (Amazon £50 free postage) and am looking forward to absorbing the contents.I did not realise the amount of maths involved in valve circuit design !
anyway they are my bedtime reading for a while to come. Philip

Re: Newbie guide to SE Vs PP
Philip Morgan Jones simplifies it for you the real maths is much harder.
Tube audio design Bruce Rosenblit touches on the maths.

Re: Newbie guide to SE Vs PP
A mere 18 months late, he chips in to say...
I'm a Bass player too! For those who might be interested, here's the rig: 3 basses (Rick 4003 / Mania VT4-BS / Dean Stylist), run in 2-channel via a pair of rackount pre-amps (Peavey TB Raxx / Mindprint EnVoice), into a Trace Elliot VA350 (power amp only - no GP11 front end) which I renovated from a defunct spares-or-repair project. 350 Watts from 6 x 6550s. This feeds a pair of Bill Fitzmaurice Omni 10.5 Crossfire cabs loaded with eminence Beta 10a drivers. All of which looks like this: Right. That's it. I'll shut up, now. Back to the HiFi stuff... |
