Stupidity by Dr Feelgood.

This 1976 chart topping live album is a hoot!
Side one was recorded at Sheffield City Hall.
Side two was recorded at the Southend Kursall.
A ropey recording in both venues but you can tell them apart.
Southend sounds a bit cleaner and less echoey (probably a smaller venue than the City Hall)

Full of atmosphere and good time R&B vibes from a pivotal point in an era
when most pop music was utter bilge.

It wasn't long after this album hit big that Ian Dury, Eddie and the Hot Rods, The Kursall Flyers, Rocky Sharpe and the Razors, The Clash, The Radio Stars etc began to see some action. Pity Malcolm Mclaren and his followers' antics had to bugger most of it up.

Bach - The Goldberg Variations - Glenn Gould.
Marvellous, but I've developed a strange craving for liver with some fava beans and a big amarone.

Sounds Of Silence. Simon And Garfunkel. (Vinyl).
Bought three of their's at the same time, from Penny Lane Records in Chester. They cost less than a fiver each, and sound ok.

The Electric Prunes. I had Too much To Dream Last Night.

Bought it from Probe Records in Liverpool, after seeing Easy Rider film at the pictures.

Lockenhaus Live 1982

A fantastic 2 lp set of live recordings from 1982 Lockenhaus music festival.
Superb Philips recording quality, and superb performances. One of the most thrilling URthere-experiences ever. Hagen quartet plays Schubert as well ws they ever had...
