I'll be making a contribution. I still use my KaT6550 after around 17 years service and have had huge amounts of help and information on here over the years.

Just for information, when this fund-raiser was initiated by John last year, I took the decision not to acknowledge contributions by name on the forum - too much guilt-tripping those who couldn't or wouldn't help. That did leave us with the option of thanking folk individually which would have landed up turning into either quite an onerous job or a very obvious "bulk mail" missive - and I hated that idea! It would anyway have been logistically difficult, because not everyone uses PayPal and some people managed to donate (almost) anonymously by Direct Transfer.

I hope you can see the reasoning behind this ... even if it was a bad call, it wasn't done thoughtlessly. Oh, and please feel free to write a note here telling us if you contribute pour encourager les autres!

I was speaking to Matthew on the phone Friday to order some parts, we always have a little chat about life, one thing came up about the forum funding, Matthew is delighted at the response of members, but commented that not many pay by PayPal as a gift, so therefore PayPal take a cut. Matthew is far too polite to say anything, so I am. I will not have a problem if the Moderators or Matthew see fit to remove this post, but I hope contributors will understand what I am suggesting.
