Just remembered 'twas based on 100V per millimetre, and that's generous. That's to resist 'tracking', which is across the surface of the board. As you say in open air the resistance should be much higher. Unless you've left it out in the garage for a couple of weeks to get damp ~ zzzzt ...

some pics.I`m going to rebuild it a lot better. Still thinking of keeping some type of wooden build into it. Also need to find a place thats stocks chrome transformer covers as these ones are a little past it and have some dents.

also will sort out the fuse problem. And a few other million issues.

Have a few pcb software packages here. A little less advanced than orcad ,but I think the pcb boards could be redone from original artwork.

I would love to see a mark two of this amplifier. :-)

I have already traced them in PowerPoint format (including modification to latest circuit). Print onto PressnPeel and your ready to go! PM me if you want the files.

How about a new set of the original covers and find a chroming works to do them? Think they're nickel or something plated as they come.

Chassis still in the very early stages ~ about 2 days so far just to finish the top panel. 150 holes! Give or take...

For anything over about 4mm used the old 'aircraft manufacturing' method, start with a small hole and work up in small steps. Much neater that way. Very large holes with Q-max punches and rectangular with nibbling tool. The side panels should be a breeze after that

Then it will all have to be painted... it never ends

Tho actually I'm going to use one the old blue LCR caps for the reservoir (about 73uF [measured])
