I dunno, you youngsters with yer bonk-a-chonka music. I can't hear the words anymore and some of the boys look like girls with their long hair over their ears.

I just played a couple of singles from the early 70s, that I haven't played for at least 20 years. What a hoot!

The offenders were:

"Walkin' " - CCS and "The Resurrection Shuffle" - Ashton Garner & Dyke.

The CCS is a multi-layered, dense blob of a production. The horn section used to part my hair on the old Linn Naim gear. On the valves it is just great. Not the highest of fi but a storming good romp of a track.

The Resurrection Shuffle is just LOUD. The cymbal crash a few bars into the intro is awesomely silly, totally OTT and the horn stabs are simply frightening. The whole track sounds like a bunch of blokes making a bloody racket and having a good time doing it.

Those two have put me in a good mood to start the PSU wiring on the OTL.

Jaco Pastorius' eponymous album.

I'd forgotten how good it is.

Wish I'd got it on vinyl though !

The Clash - "London Calling", remastered CD

Wot fun!

Sounds rather nice, actually. Before that it was Stranglers "Rattus Norvegicus", also on CD. The latter sounds really **** in comparison (still a good album, though!)
