'Band on the Run', 25th anniversary edition, pressed to vinyl and available from Diverse Vinyl at £30. Absolutely bloody excellent. The original was good but this pressing really lifts the pleasure. Certainly £30 well spent. It includes a second LP which is basically a documentary about the history of the recording. Also good stuff.

This album for me is the best McCartney has achieved throughout his long career. It retains elements of the Beetles but also moves on to something else without deviating too far. Love it.

Finally, being so well recorded, the playback is sublime. The system sounds so totally balanced and the sound is best/good. Maybe there is something to consider here. How often are we working on the system to improve the sound when the system is probably excellent. It's the recordings we're using for reference that are probably wrong......IMHO of course.

Best wishes,

Greg

Hmmm. Quite a bit of Paul Mcartneys stuff was well recorded as far as i remember. Even sounds good on the wifes little Technics turntable, which is the only record playing device we currently own.

Guys,if you don't own this DVD,i suggest you should, trust me

Dave Gilmour's guitar solo at the end of Comfortably Numb is worth the cost of the DVD

Amanda and I were there. Front row, centre seats Cameraman got in the way occasionally. There seemed to be alot of eye contact going on between the good lady and Guy Pratt on bass but I ignored that. The music was far better to concentrate on
