Default JE EL34 Build

Well its take me a long time no change that a very long time to get this started but it’s on its way
Layout plan has materialized at last
Not that easy to do with the only tools I have for this kind of work a 2 inch and one inch metal holes saw and three quarter inch flat file in round holes not the best work I’ve seen but I have found out I an not very good at metal work but no matter as I envisage using mirror acrylic on the top plate with black wood base guess what thou no blood
Some pics

HI all
Well as I can’t get the correct HT from a 5R4 Rec I is going to use a SS Rec made up from four U8100E Diodes if I can get my head round the way to connect them up
A standard diode is no problem as they have the band at one end but it’s the symbol for direction of flow that keeps confuses me with this TO-220 diode type I think its pin 1 as cathode anyone confirm this looking at one and trying to see four connected up as a bridge Rec is doing my head in

This is how I read it. Imagine the "band" is on the "1" end. Correct me quickly if I have misremembered this.
Ignore the live "4" terminal from the circuit point of view. However it does mean that the diodes all need electrically insulated from each other and from the heatsink(s), including the bolts used to fix them or else the bolts and heatsinks will be live.
(Arguably the two on the right do not need insulated from each other , but they will be live at HT positive voltage, so it would be simplest to insulate all the same.)

Thanks Alastair
Yes that’s a big help I can see in now was hoping I could use them without heat sink thou TX is 640CT 0.2A total current drown is about 67mA

I think that's right.

Colin, you do like making things difficult.

What's wrong with more conventional diodes ?

I may well have 4 spare if you want something more conventional.
