MKP power supply capacitors.
Are there any reasons why an MKP type capacitor would not be good to use in an amp power supply ?
I'm thinking of two 116uf @ 900v in series for the new and improved 833a amp. With an HT of approx 1300v (1.3KV) my choices are limited.

Hello Philip,
As no one else has chipped in, I can't see why they would not be OK. My only thought is that the balance resistors will also need to be high voltage types or made of a chain of resistors with a HT. that high. Phil.

I cannot see any reason why not, after all "a capacitor is a capacitor is a capacitor", to misquote Gertrude Stein. As long as the voltage and value are what you require all should be well. As Phil said the balancing resistors need to either be high voltage types (RS?) or a chain of low voltage types, most are rated at about 250-300V. Good luck and remember one hand in the trousers John
