Default pre 2 power supply

I have a couple of 120uf capacitors that could possibly could be used in the pre 2 power supply, would 120uf be too much where 100uf is specified?

Chris.

I'd say you were quite safe, and probably within tolerances.

Hi Chris,
No not a problem. Because the Pre PSU's have solid state rectification they do not suffer from the "hot switching" syndrome of valve rectifiers, although you have to bear in mind that if the capacity gets too high then the initial charging current from "cold" could exceed the rectifier and fuse rating
As 120µf is only 20% up on 100µF and capacitors are often +50% -20% it does not produce a problem.

John
