Hi Davy, all,

This happens to me, and others too I think. When it does it, follow what it asks, ie don't close your browser, just log onto the screen showing, and you'll find you're back in and the post you've just tried to send is not lost

Hi Greg

Just tried a couple of times to get it to log me out, to get a screengrab of what it shows, but it wouldn't do it.

Usually it's if I'm replying to something soon after logging on and I've taken a while composing the post.

Next time it does it I'll get a screengrab to post and see if it's the same screen others get.

Simply though, if you hit submit and it tells you you're not logged on, log on again, using the screen showing (don't close the browser), and your post will not be lost.

Hi,
if you put the site index page into your favourites after logging on, you will not need to log in again.
I never have to log in, the top right of the page always shows me logged in.
cheers

Hi John

The "remember me" function relies on a cookie. Folk will have their own views on security but if you clear cookies regularly, as I do, then it is lost.

For ease of use also, I always come to the bb not logged on as it can still be read and I only needto log on to view pics or post.

Better still, the "New Posts" on the header bar is instead called "Todays Posts" when not logged on and shows all posts regardless of what you've read earlier. I find "New Posts" and the red flags pretty useless.

Great, it's just logged me out posting this so I've grabbed it and will post below in 2 ticks,

I just assumed it was some sort of timeout...that I'd been logged on too long with no activity.....but why does it throw you out when you've been logged on already and start typing a message...maybe someone computery needs to look at this....

Hi-i think its more to do with how the individuals home computer is set up.

I have never had this problem myself but my computer logs me in automatic when i select the site from my bookmarks/favorites.

I use mainly Mozilla Firefox but did use IE 6 (and now 7) for a while.

hi David,
put the site in your favourites when on the index page.
If you are worried about keeping cookies on your computer you can manually remove the unwanted ones regularly leaving the useful ones in the list.
You should never be kicked out of WD then.

cheers

As far as I am aware the cookie 'timeout' only occurs if you don't tick the Remember Me box when logging in.

So always make sure the Remember Me box is ticked when you log in and the cookie will be set (and reset if you have cleared cookies in between) and you shouldn't be logged out.

Of course if you have set your browser to reject cookies this won't work.
