However, it’s not so good for me when out walking the mutt on the 28 I took a dive on black ice and smashed two bone in my elbow now have to have an op and have pins fitted in mad:
Why did this happen well very bad LED Street lighting and no Gritting of the footpaths by the council the whole village is a sea of black ice and the council will not do anything thing about it?
I am booked in for the op on Wednesday and I don’t want to go in there
Anyway have a good New Year Chats

Default Happy New Year to all

Hi everyone,
Happy New Year to all and I hope 2021 is a damn sight better than 2020.
Colin - sympathy for your elbow break - perfect example of "Sods law" at work. Hope you recover quickly from it.
One fingered typing is fine with all of us here
Regards

John

Happy new year all.
Sorry to hear about the fall Collin fingers crossed for the op.
Yes we had same problem with gritting but then two councillors got elected, and re elected, on the road I live on and another one on an adjoining lane. Now both the roads and pavements are swept and regularly well gritted.
Goodluck next week.

First, this is so strange, yesterday evening I posted a Happy new year post, clicked submit and the forum collapses again, so here I am, only just got back on line, Happy new year all. So sorry to hear of your accident Colin, ice can be deadly if you fall wrong, although some of Scotland's finest softens the fall , best of luck with the operation, keep us posted when you can, and be careful. Bob

Likewise Colin, and all the other members.
Ah yes the joys of rural living.......... Just been out this afternoon for a quick 5 miles stroll over "the moor" as we call it locally, 1000ft ASL and theres a couple of clowns on electric pushbikes on solid hard packed ice and snow and having the cheek to be yelling at a local farmer in his 4 x 4......... One's doing his job and the other 2?
I ride a pushbike too but not when its 5 below and falling on obvious ice and thats our whole village as only the school bus route gets gritted.

Not been on much guys sorry had some personal stuff to deal with.

Bob... thanks for the machining work its totally professional and as soon as I can get the rest of the metal work sorted I'll show you what I did.

Andy, glass of proper genuine german lager from the outside "fridge" in hand...........
