5u4g or 5u4gb

Good Morning All . this has been probably been done to death but i can not find it . Can I use the 5u4gb in place of 5u4g in my kat 6550 amp

Hi Steve,

Yes but go for a pair of one type and make rather than mixing them as there are some small rating/impedance differences in the data sheets for the later GB version.

(The coke bottle shape original was 1938 and the straight glass version was 1956.)

We are using them in parallel operation here to make a single full wave rectifier in Kit6550 so the closer matched they are the better.

Do consider fitting the balance/surge resistors as per the FAQ if you do not already have them, http://www.world-designs.co.uk/forum...newpost&t=3859
