How to split non matched valves
WAD Kit 34 amplifier - (unmodified) .
I have bought a new set of EL34 valves for my Kit 34 amp. I initially thought i was getting a matched quad, but they are actually 2 x matched pairs, (Gm 7.800 and Gm 7.400). they seemed a very reasonable price for 4 x EL34's so i continued with the sale ( e-bay). How should i install the valves, should i put a matched pair on each channel, or should i have one of each value per channel to even things up a bit ? I'm pretty sure that i won't really notice much difference either way. Also if i do put one of each per channel which position should they go in ? |

Re: How to split non matched valves
Put one matched pair in each channel !
Its to keep things even as they push and pull.
