North West Audio Show 18-19 June
Dear All
It’s been a long time, but we are now “taking a stand” (mild pun intended) and I'm delighted to announce that World Designs will be exhibiting at The North West Audio Show at the fabulous De Vere Estate, Cranage in Cheshire. Details and a direct link to the NWAS website are pasted below. We have heard fantastic reports of this show and very much hope some of our members will contribute to this thread with any comments, tips, recommendations or transport tips. We obviously would love to see you there. Do post on this thread if you are thinking of coming - and please drop in on us in Room 215! All best, Matthew https://audioshow.co.uk/ |

Re: North West Audio Show 18-19 June
Apologies for a rather late report on the North West Audio Show; I've been unpacking ever since!
The show was lively - particularly busy on the Saturday - and had a fantastic "atmosphere". Highly recommended. Massive thanks to John and Nigel for their support, hard work and for loaning equipment and recordings. We all had a great time and I think provoked interest - particularly with some of the "vintage" equipment we used to complement the kits! With a bit of luck some of this may translate into sales, but the main idea was to raise the profile of World Designs. I think we were successful and we look forward to doing it again. Lovely to see Geoff (pager8) - and I hope we will see a few more forum members next year! Matthew |

Hi Matthew,
Glad you had a good show. Any chance of some pix of the setup and the vintage gear. When you’ve got yourself together again that is. It was a bit far from Wales to visit All the best Martin |

Re: North West Audio Show 18-19 June
I am glad all went well, I am sorry I did not attend but, with my arthritic joints now giving me a lot of grief, and the prats on the road, not to mention fuel prices I decided it was a bad move. May be next year if my right knee is replaced, time will tell. Bob

Re: North West Audio Show 18-19 June
Hi all,
I am sorry that I didn't take any pictures of the room, next time, however there are mini movies on YouTube which briefly show the equipment layout and also a good picture of the three reprobates and gear on the ProAc website under "News". For all interested we had a KEL84 integrated, WD88VA amp, Phono3S, Pre4 and a PSU3. Signals were provided by a Philips CD104, TD160 MKII, SME 3009/II/Improved/fixed, Shure V15III/Jico VN35E. background music courtesy of Radio Paradise/MacBook Pro plus DAC. I called in a few favours and borrowed a pair of ProAc DT8, Falcon Ram stand mounts plus stands, and Nigel (Vinyspinner) brought along a pair of Edingdales. We decided not to try to borrow current state of the art and b****y expensive ancillaries but take equipment that a lot of customers may (still) have in their homes. Of course we took too much equipment, but better safe than sorry, but not enough "blurb". The nett results were far far better that we expected and comments were very favourable mostly along the line of "this is what we have at home or that was my first T/T etc." As Matthew said a very busy Saturday but a quieter Sunday, however all in all a very good show. If things go well we shall be there a next year. Thanks to ProAc and Guildford Audio for their kind loan of Equipment John |

Thanks Colin, I am going to have a guess at the three reprobates left Matthew, right Nigel, and centre John, I have never seen any of these people so please tell me if I am correct. Bob
