Rapid did not fulfill a Back order

Ha Yes got a phone call from Rapid today regarding a back order for four 4u7 10V OSCON SC Electrolytic Capacitors of which ii received one with order
So three to come the caller said there suppliers would only supply a minimum batch of 500 but rapid said no so turns out I won’t get the other three cap now I would have though rapid would order 500 no problem or I wonder do they know that OSCON Caps are no longer made

Speak to their customer service man and tell him of your concerns Colin.

Let him know they are about to be "UNOBTANIUM" IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE AND HE WOULD BE WISE TO LAY IN A STORE OF THEM FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS OF HIFI LOVERS.

Yep I must admit it surprised me they would not stock a batch of 500 doesn't seem alot to me

Most firms these days stock only enough for a certain number of days sales (say 1 month as an example).

If the monthly sales are not many then 500 would not be an economic quantity for them to stock.

It's the way business is done.

Hello all, Colin, do I understand that you can not get these os cons, I have just been on the RS site to place an order, and they do have in stock, OS CON SC 16v 4.7uF, min quantity 5 @ £2.13 + vat, that is from the trade counter, I will order for you if requested, sadly there will be post on top, if I can help please shout. On another subject, and I am sorry to Hi-Jack this thread, but if Boondi is tuned in, can he , living close to Arbroth, advise me how to get some Arbroth smokys? are they available mail order? , I dont see it on the web. Thanks.

When I said can’t get the oscons meaning they are not made any more as far as I know and rapids stocks are getting thin and seems there are not restocking I do have an RS accounts cash only at trade counter but it can cost me about £6.00 to get there as I don’t drive so it’s a bus trip I will have a look on the RS website and get back to you
