Default DIY chassis idea

At Egg3, Andrew and I were discussing ideas for DIY chassis. I told him about my balanced preamp which used alloy components from Schaeffer and eMachineShop, along with some wooden corners I made on my router table.
Anyway, long story short, I said I would put some pictures up because its easier than trying to describe it.
The pictures are here
http://www.geocities.com/wulfie22003/index.html
Follow the link to 'Balanced Preamp'

There are counter-bored holes in the panels, which allow the M3 stainless socket crews to sit flush. Each of the wooden corners is rebated to allow the panels to sit flush. Each wooden corner also has a pair of slots. Alloy plates with M3 tapped holes slide into the slots, and the fixing screws screw into those plates.
There is a second front panel behind the first, this allowed me to sink the control knobs and switches into the front panel for a better look (IMO)
I need to tidy up the exposed edge of the top and bottom panels - either polished or brushed finish.
I plan to do something similar for my EQ-600 phono, I have some nice spalted beech for the corners.
If anyone has any questions, please ask.
Max

Max your 'bling' puts me to shame...if you ever meet my wife please don't show her any photos of your pre or your 300B amp.

cheers,

Thanks for the nice words guys :-)
James, it did live on a breadboard for many months before I built the chassis.
Actually, I have a sneaking feeling it may have sounded a bit better on the board......dohhh

very nice Max,
thanks, it's given me an idea on how to join the corners when I come to build a box for my CDPro
