We have all heard one hifi manufacturer allude to (his own) Golden Ears.

However the photograph on page 100 of HFW June 07 clearly shows Peter C himself wired up like a laboratory rat by his middle finger, while Noel K winds up the voltage without compassion!

Let me undo the case of my amp. I will try the same and if I don't report back later you will know not to try this without asking your parents first.
