Just spotted a pair of Western Electric 211s on Ebay

weren't they lovely though!

wonder if there was any life left in them.

wonder if there is ...how much life left in the VT4Cs I have (1942 vintage). while they last, they are superb.

and a tad cheaper than those advertised.

I decided to leave them as I understand too well the warning of no guarantee. Usually that means these are ornaments, but I have given lots of tasy information to make optomists bid them up to silly amounts.

I had a look at this last night as well, I think from the description these were bright emmiter fillaments as well, unlike the 4212 that Paul has, so maybe all they had going for them was the WE name. Not sure about bakalite bases though :-)
